Oldest person to climb a mountain over 8,000 m

The oldest man to climb a mountain over 8,000 m is Carlos Soria Fontán (Spain, b. 5 Feburary 1939), who reached to the true summit of Manaslu on 26 September 2025 at the age of 86 years 233 days.

Soria is also the oldest man to climb Manaslu and hopes to be the oldest person to complete the 14 eight thousanders challenge.
