The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) record for most points scored by an individual in her first regular-season game is 34, achieved by Candace Parker while playing for the Los Angeles Sparks (both USA) on 17 May 2008.

The Sparks beat the defending champions, the Phoenix Mercury (USA), 99-94.

The most points scored in a WNBA playoff debut is 36, accomplished by Rhyne Howard of the Atlanta Dream (both USA) on 15 September 2023.
