The fastest ever windsurfing speed achieved by a woman is 48.02 knots (88.92 km/h; 55.26 mph) by Jenna Gibson (UK) on the 500-m course at the world speed windsurfing event in Lüderitz, Namibia, on 25 November 2024.
Gibson beat the record of 47.06 knots logged by Heidi Ulrich of Switzerland at the same location in 2022. During her run, Gibson became the first woman to break the 50-knots barrier, recording a peak speed of 50.02 knots over two seconds. The record was verified by the World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC).
