As part of a protest against the “Incarna” update pack, 5,833 players claimed they had cancelled their subscriptions to sci-fi MMO Eve Online. Incarna allows players to finally leave their spaceships and introduces new charges for various aspects of gameplay including high-priced “vanity items” (in-game objects that offer no benefits except prestige). If the protesting players stay away from the game, its developer could be set to lose out on $87,203 (£54,432) in monthly subscription revenues.
