Most troops deployed overseas

As of May 2005, the country with the highest number of military personnel serving their country, but overseas, is the USA with approximately 350,000 personnel on active duty. This figure includes those forces normally present in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan, unless bases at those locations are actively supporting a combat operation.
