The world record for the highest amount paid to an actor to guest star on a TV show is Matthew Perry, who was paid £500,000 ($765,900) for appearing on FOX's Ally McBeal (USA). The 2-hour episode, was broadcast on 15 April 2002 and Perry played the character of Todd Merrick. The record is based on amount of money per minute. Although 1hour programmes are not precisely 60 minutes, this will act as a standard. £500,000 /120 mins = £4,166 ($6,381) per minute.
