The oldest person to climb Mount Fuji (male) is Kokichi Akuzawa (b. 14 June, 1923) who reached the top when he was 102 years and 51 days old, as verified in Fujiyoshida, Shizuoka, Japan on 5 August 2025.
Kokichi Akuzawa climbed the Yoshida route. He started ascending Mt. Fuji on 3 August 2025 at 8:40 am. He stayed over for two nights during his journey towards the summit and reached the summit at 11 am on 5 August 2025. On the summit, he signed the visitor book at the Fujisan Sengen Shrine.
