The most wins of the Half Marathon World Championships by an individual (female) is 3, achieved by Tegla Loroupe (Kenya) in 1997–99; and equalled by Paula Radcliffe (UK) in 2000–01 and 2003; Lornah Kiplagat (Netherlands, b. Kenya) in 2006–08; and Peres Jepchirchir (Kenya) in 2016, 2020 and 2023.

Peres Jepchirchir sealed a record-equalling third half marathon world championship title with victory in Riga, Latvia, on 1 October 2023. She finished in a time of 1:07:25.
