Most visited tourism region

According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the region that received the most international tourists in 2012 was Europe, with 534.2 million arrivals. The continent still attracts 51.6% of all international travellers. Europe's nearest rivals were Asia and the Pacific, with 233.6 million arrivals, and the Americas, with 163.1 million arrivals.

UNWTO estimated the total number of international tourist arrivals at 1,035 million for 2012.
