Aitana Bonmatí became the first three-time winner of the Women’s Ballon d’Or on 22 September 2025. She finished ahead of her Spanish teammate Mariona Caldentey and England’s Alessia Russo in second and third. Bonmatí was named Player of the Tournament at the 2025 UEFA Women’s Euros and Player of the Season for the 2024/25 UEFA Women’s Champions League, despite losing both finals with Spain and Barcelona respectively.
