Best-selling soccer videogame franchise

Having shifted 125.82 million copies since it was launched in 1993, EA’s FIFA is the most successful soccer videogame franchise of all time, according to VGChartz as of 25 July 2014. The FIFA series of games has also generated more money than any other football videogame. It is the first gaming franchise to have generated more than £1 billion (US$1.7bn/EUR1.2bn) at UK retail but, with global sales totalling £3.6 billion (US$6bn/EUR4.3bn), it is also the most lucrative football videogame franchise in the world. FIFA 13 remains the best-selling individual FIFA game with record sales of 14.5 million as of 22 April 2014.
