The most Olympic gold medals in the hammer throw by a female athlete is 3, achieved by Anita Włodarczyk (Poland) between 2012 and 2021.

Włodarczyk confirmed her status as the greatest women’s hammer thrower in history with her third consecutive Olympic title in Tokyo. The 35-year-old threw 78.48 m (257 ft 5 in) in the fourth round to seal victory. She also has four world championship titles to her name and is the world-record holder in the event.
