Lucia Xarate (Mexico) (1863–89) of San Carlos, Mexico, an emaciated ateleiotic dwarf of 67 cm (26.8 in), who weighed 1.1 kg (2.8lb) at birth, weighed only 2.13 kg (4.7 lb) at the age of 17. She fattened up to 5.9 kg (13lb) by her 20th birthday.

The lightest recorded adults of normal height are those suffering from Simmond's Disease (Hypophyseal cachexia). Losses of upto 65% of the original body-weight have been recorded in females, with a 'low' of 20 kg (45 lb or 3 st 3 lb) in the case of Emma Shaller (USA) (b. St Louis, Missouri,  8 July 1868, d. 4 October1890), who stood 1.57 m (5 ft 2 in).


Edward C. Hagner (1892-1962), alias Eddie Masher (USA) is alleged to have weighed only 22 kg (48 lb or 3 st 6 lb) at a height of 1.7 m (5 ft 7 in). He was also known as the 'Skeleton Dude'.

In August 1825 the biceps measurement of Cluade-Ambroise Seurat (b.10 April 1797, d.6 April 1826) (France) of Troyes, France was 10 cm (4 in) and the distance between his back and his chest was less than 7.6 cm (3 in). According to one report he stood 1.71cm (5 ft 7½ in) and weighed 35 kg (78 lb or 5 st 8 lb), but in another account was described as 1.63 m (5 ft 4 in) and only 16 kg (36 lb or 2 st 8 lb).

It was recorded that the American exhibitionist Rosa Lee Plemons (b.1873) weighed 12 kg (27 lb or 1 st 14 oz) at the age of 18.

In July 1977 the death was reported of an 83-year-old woman in Mexborough, South Yorkshire, UK who scaled only 15 kg (33 lb 2 st 5l b) (height not recorded).
