The greatest distance by electric rigid truck, single charge is 1099 km (682.88 miles) and was achieved by Designwerk Products AG, DPD (Schweiz) AG and Continental Suisse SA (all Switzerland) at the Continental Contidrom test site, Wietze, Lower Saxony, Germany, on 12 June 2021.

With a total of 1,099 kilometres, the three business partners DPD Switzerland, Futuricum and Continental have secured the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title greatest distance by electric rigid truck, single charge, and clearly demonstrating that sustainable, energy- and cost-efficient electric mobility in the transport industry is not a mobility concept of tomorrow, but already a reality on Europe's roads today.

A Futuricum electric truck was used for the record, which is already being used by DPD Switzerland in delivery traffic for half a year. The 19-tonne truck has 680 hp and, with a capacity of 680 kilowatt hours, the largest truck battery in Europe on board.

In addition, the three partners opted for Continental's EfficientPro tyres, which are designed for particularly low rolling resistance. The EfficientPro is a proven model that has been developed especially for long-distance transports and where the focus is on range.

The best record conditions were found near Hanover on the high-speed oval of the Contidrom, Continental's in-house test track. It is a 2.8 kilometre long oval test track. In total, two drivers completed 392 laps in shifts of 4.5 hours. After almost 23 hours, the three partners were allowed to proclaim the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title greatest distance by electric rigid truck, single charge with 1,099 kilometres driven.
