Most expensive coin set

A record $3,190,000 (£1,889,027) was paid for the King of Siam Proof Set by Iraj Sayah and Terry Brand at Superior Galleries, Beverly Hills, California, USA on 28 May 1990. The set consisted of nine 1804 and 1834 US coins which had once been given to the King of Siam and included was an 1804 silver dollar which had an estimated value of approximately $200,000 at the time of the sale.
