The oldest male swimmer to complete the Oceans Seven challenge is Stephen Junk (Australia, b. 22 September 1960), who was aged 62 years 353 days when he swam his final leg (the North Channel) on 10 September 2023.
The Oceans Seven, the open-water swimming community's equivalent of the Seven Summits, was conceived by the World Open Water Swimming Association and consists of the following waterways: the North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland, the Cook Strait between the North and South Islands of New Zealand, the Molokai/Kaiwi Channel between Oahu and Molokai Islands in Hawaii, the English Channel between England and France, the Catalina Channel between Catalina Island and southern California, the Tsugaru Strait between the islands of Honshu and Hokkaido in Japan and the Strait of Gibraltar between Europe and Africa.
Junk's Oceans Seven swim dates, which took place over 18 years, and the times he recorded were as follows:
- Strait of Gibraltar (Europe to Africa): 1 July 2005: 4 hr 1 min
- Catalina Channel (Catalina Island to California mainland, USA): 8 August 2008: 10 hr 29 min 46 sec
- Cook Strait (North to South Island, New Zealand): 8 March 2010: 8 hr 8 min
- Tsugaru Strait (Honshu to Hokkaido, Japan): 19 August 2016: 11 hr 2 min
- English Channel (England to France): 6 September 2016: 14 hr 20 min 20 sec
- Molokai/Kaiwi Channel (Molokai to Oahu, Hawaii, USA): 5 October 2016: 13 hr 50 min
