As Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (USA) took the court at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, on 18 November 2025 to begin his 23rd season in the NBA, the 40-year-old added yet another record to his illustrious resume – the longest career in league history. The future Hall of Famer had 11 points, 12 assists and three rebounds while starting and playing 29 minutes in the Lakers’ 140-126 win over the Utah Jazz.

LeBron James has been a star in the league ever since the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the number one pick in the 2003 NBA draft. He has won four NBA titles. Prior to 18 November 2025, James shared the accolade with Vince Carter, who played 22 NBA seasons from 1998 to 2020.
