Most in-demand TV show based on a film adaptation

Cobra Kai (Netflix, USA; 2018–present) was the most popular TV series based on a film adaptation in 2022–23, according to data-science firm Parrot Analytics, with a global demand rating 29.5 times greater than that of the average TV programme.

The series premiered on 2 May 2018 and to date has released five seasons.

The martial-arts comedy drama is a spin-off of the 1984 hit movie The Karate Kid (USA) and its two sequels. Cobra Kai stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, reprising their respective roles of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence from the original Karate Kid trilogy.
