Largest e-sports streaming deal

Many judge the popularity of a videogame, regardless of quality, by the sheer numbers of viewers attracted to online streaming platform Twitch. And so, when Twitch handed over at least $90M to Blizzard for upwards of two years exclusive streaming rights of the Overwatch League (OWL), it is likely that the online media giant is banking on significant viewing figures for the foreseeable future. It has been called “the biggest exclusive distribution deal in e-sports history”, streaming globally (everywhere except China) in Korean, English and French, and was signed on January 9, 2018.
