The largest origami sentence consists of 23,516 origami pieces and was achieved by Hitachinaka Festiva Executive Committee (Japan) in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki, Japan on 17 August 2025.
By attempting this Guinness World Records title, the organisers aimed to create a festival that will be “recorded” in history and foster civic pride. On this occasion, they arranged the text using origami senbazuru (a thousand paper cranes) and imbued it with participants’ thoughts and wishes, making it a symbol of peace, bonds, and hope.
