Fastest pacifist completion of Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom

Playing the beat-'em-up's Japanese version on 17 August 2014, US Ninja Gaiden master "gusmancini" finished Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom (1991) in 17 minutes 42 seconds without killing any non-boss enemies, as verified by Speedrun.com. Pacifist speed-runs challenge players to finish a game as fast as possible while killing the lowest possible number of enemies – usually zero. In the case of this particular NES game, bosses still need to be eliminated in order for the player to advance. By way of comparison, the fastest normal (any%) speed-run for this game was 12 minutes 41 seconds.

The player also held pacifist speed-run records for the game's two prequels.
