Longest urban canal system

The longest urban canal system is the 183.5 km (114 miles) of remaining navigable waterways in the urban area of Birmingham, UK. Originally 280 km (174 miles) in length, the system was constructed as series of separate canals over a period of around 85 years from 1759 onwards.
