The longest TV character portrayal is 57 years and was achieved by Xavier López (Mexico) as Chabelo, appearing on both television and film from 1955 to 16 December 2012. Chabelo started his career in Pepsi commercials and has since portrayed the same character in movies, and on several television shows, including his own children's television show, En Familia Con Chabelo, which has been airing on Sunday mornings on Televisa for the last 44 years.
