First songwriting team to have UK No.1 singles in five successive decades

The Bee Gees (UK) - Barry, Robin (1949-2012) and Maurice (1949-2003) Gibb - were the first songwriters to be credited with UK No.1 singles in five consecutive decades. The first of their 11 UK chart-toppers came in 1967 with "(The Night the Lights Went Out in) Massachusetts", followed by "I've Gotta Get a Message to You" (1968), "Night Fever" (1978), "Tragedy" (1979), "Woman in Love" (Barbra Streisand, 1980), "Chain Reaction" (Diana Ross, 1986), "You Win Again" (1987), "How Deep is Your Love" (Take That, 1996), "Words" (Boyzone, 1996), "Tragedy" (Steps, 1999) and finally "Barry Islands In The Stream" (Vanessa Jenkins and Bryn West feat. Sir Tom Jones and Robin Gibb, 2009).
