"I Will Always Love You", written by Dolly Parton (USA) and covered by Whitney Houston (USA, 1963-2012) in 1992 for the blockbuster movie The Bodyguard (USA, 1992), has sold more than 4.5 million copies in the USA. "I Will Always Love You" also held the record for the fastest-selling single (US), shifting 632,000 copies in (pre-digital) January 1993 (since beaten by Elton John's "Candle in the Wind 1997"), and remains the best-selling single by a female artist worldwide, with sales of more than 12 million.
