The largest pub crawl involved 4,885 participants, who visited 10 pubs in Kansas City's Power & Light District, Missouri, USA, during an event organized by Crawl for Cancer Inc. (USA) on 1 June 2013. The crawl raised more than $100,000 (£65,145) for charity. Twenty-one bars in Kansas City's Power & Light District participated in the crawl, with more than 4,635 US gallons of beer ordered for the event. Many participants incidentally celebrated in costume, ranging from Oompa-Loompas, Smurfs, and Ninja Turtles to soldiers, baseball players, and hula dancers. Each team also wore specially-designed CFC shirts in one of 60 possible colors. Crawl for Cancer is held in over 20 cities across the United States and biannually in Kansas City where it began in 2001. Money raised goes to nearly fifty cancer-related charities in the communities hosting each event.
